I'm not a huge fan of lao Beijing street food, but my Hui-minority in-laws have a nostalgic soft spot for this place because it's one of the few remaining restaurants (or chains, to be precise) where you can still sit down with a steaming bowl of douzhi (fermented soy curds) and fried dough rings and eat shitang (cafeteria style) like back in the day.

They also do bao du (boiled tripe) and rou bing (meat pies) - so this is definitely the place to get a real taste of old Beijing.
