Review of Zhongshan Park
Zhongshan Park is a lovely surprise at any time of year after the crowds around the Forbidden City, but in the spring they hold a tulip festival. If you don´t want to trek out to the Botanical Gardens, this is the next best thing. Beds throughout the park are planted with displays of intense colour, along with other spring flowers like pansies and peonies. Along with the famous cypresses (the oldest of which are apparently over 1000 years old) the park also has a small greenhouse with more exotic plants, and a memorial hall to Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan is the Mandarin form of his name).
