Nice meal, I had the pumpkin soup- easily the best in Beijing. The hummus, bread, seasoned butter were great. The linguine with great little grilled zucchinis, the chicken schnitzel and the north carolina ribs were all great, The biggest problem is that I could not decide what I liked the most.
Later for dessert we had the apple crepes and apple crumb with ice cream, all home made (well the ice cream was not but tasted as if it were) and quite yummy.
Nice private rooms that are cozy, interesting art that is from as many places as the food. Nice addition to Beijing. The chef is from Argentina and has a great attitude, trained in Hungary I think. The waitress is always smiling and happy. Owner is a nice american who is quite mellow for a New yorker!
The biggest downfall would be that is you don't look at the map, it's a bit hard to find as for some reason the developer decided to put the building numbers on the backside of the building.
I want to go back and next time to try not to lick the plate clean! ( the owner tried to take my pumpkin soup and I told him to put it down because of I still could get a few drops left with my bread!).
I think the thing that is different than most places in Beijing is that they take pride in the place, the food and how they treat people. IF they can keep up that, they will find success.
