Review of Jingzun Peking Duck Restaurant
Had some of the best duck I've had in ages last night. You could taste the wood smoke in the skin, really fragrant, and the duck was cooked a little longer (seemed darker than our neighbor's table) giving a less oily bite. It struck me this restaurant is somewhat of a rare and welcome thing - affordable, popular with both local Chinese and foreigners, but with a bit of class too in terms of it's quirky Beijing-centric menu (maadoufu, Sichuan noodles etc), the cool furnishings and ornaments, waitresses trying on a bit of English and the open kitchen by the front entrance. More restaurants like this, please.
