Generally speaking, it's one of the best bakery you can get in Beijing, especially for the mini cakes they sell (at a high price).
Service is good and very friendly and locations really makes you feel you're in a luxurious french bakery.
But I have one comment on the Gallette des rois, the king's cake on usually buy on the first week of January, it's a catholic tradition to get such a cake and to find inside a little scultpure of a king and/or queen or even a Saint as well as a paper crown.
But in the cake I bought at Comptoir de France, I got a piece of china with an Eiffel Tower on it, I asked some friends to buy another one and they got a piece of china with the TGV (the French speed train) !!!
Is this some patriotic joke !?!? Is it too difficult to find the real thing in China ?!?!
it's like dressing as Napoleon for Xmas !
The basic aim of this cake is the King's game with the crown...so now I am the King of TGV, I'd rather have a train controler's cap then !
------
I came back the other day and tried the brunch menu...
I have to say it is one of the best in Beijing in terms of price/quality...
There is no other place you get a basket full of good bred and pastries + egg, cheese and ham for 79RMB.... fruit juice and a Latte !
I am coming back ! that's for sure !
