Pizza Hut has improved greatly from their arrival and almost complete market domination here in China. However, my experience with the restaurant in the CBD area just reminded me that Pizza Hut makes the worst pizza of all the major Pizza franchises in the USA.
The first impression was sheer disbelief at the rise of Pizza Hut as popular location to eat. Instead of the usual fastfood grab and go joint that you'd be accustomed to back home, this place is a real restaurant. The maitre d' (Seriously!) had us wait 20 minutes for a "table" to become available.
The menu is about six pages long and Pizza only accounts for one page. The selection of food ranges from vegetarian to extra greasy and the price for two is about 120-200 rmb, depending on the cow you take out to graze.
The pizza is pretty mediocre, the other western/chinese choices on the menu actually makeup for the pizza's disappointment, for example their desserts are fantastic!
There's also an all-you-can-eat salad buffet and it's some sort of tradition or brainstorming game to see what's the most effective way to pile the most crap onto your plate as mathmaticly possible. Try it, good fun!
Pizza Hut is worth a look once, but I wouldn't recommend going there a second time...Like these reviews after this Ghostface ticket contest is over.
