Kids Wowed by Wen's Hook Shot

Kids at the Shibalidian Primary School got in the mood for Children's Day with a game of basketball. But who’s that new kid in school? None other than Premier Wen Jiabao (or “Grandpa Wen”), who got his gym kit on to stress the importance of exercise as part of a healthy, harmonious lifestyle. The 68-year-old premier showed he still has all the moves, joining the youngsters on court for a game of basketball and scoring six times. Would you see President Obama doing that?

Perhaps. But what we definitely saw President Obama doing this past week was teaming up with UK Prime Minister David Cameron for a game of ping-pong. The pair got their table tennis whites on for a game while Obama was making his first state visit to the UK. While Obama seemed to have a decent grasp of China’s national sport, Cameron looked just slightly the wrong side of foolish. Maybe Cameron can redeem himself by shooting some hoops with Grandpa Wen next time he’s in Beijing.
