Justin Timberlake Ruins Our Weekend, Everyone's Excited About Clotilde Rullaud and Magic Touch

Singer, rom-com funny man, and all around lovable guy, Justin Timberlake has cancelled his guest appearance with Wang Leehom at this Saturday’s show at the Bird’s Nest. He cited health reasons were preventing him from making the trip.

We never really knew how much performing he was going to do at the gig, but still his cancellation doesn’t come as much of a shock. As Beijingers, we are use to being the unpopular birthday boy who all the cool kids flake out on at the laser tag arena.

In other news, Parisian-based jazz singer Clotilde Rullaud will be joining us on June 21 for this year’s Fête de la Musique. Booked by MusicDish, this French Jazz singer, should be a real crowd pleaser at this epic multiple venue festival taking over the city in about a week.

Clotilde will first headline at the main stage of 2 Kolegas to a horde of savage jazz fans, and then later in the evening continue over to East Shore Jazz Club in Houhai, for something a little more low key. The French certainly know how to follow through with their musical engagements, so I am sure this will go on without a hitch.

Finally, this Friday make sure to catch Magic Touch at Dada. This skilled house producer is bringing out all of his machines (synthesizers, drum machines, samplers etc.) to show off his live operating skills and unwavering ability to put people in a party mood. Following his live set, he will take over the Dada decks with his own selection of danceable tunes, till the wee hours of the morning. Check out the event listing for more details.
