Why we are recruiting
The Center for Nature and Climate (CNC) is a multi-stakeholder platform that focuses on protecting our environment and fostering sustainable practices. Our goals include achieving net zero emissions, promoting responsible land and ocean use, and improving the management of key resources like food, water, and raw materials.

Resource Stewardship for Better Living (“Better Living”) is one of the key pillars of work within the Center. It aims to support the global community in their efforts to improve current and future living conditions through the following global work programs:

• Economic systems transformation: Transform economic systems towards an improved use of resources and their value-add derivatives and maximize the environmental and societal performance of materials through circular and other resource-efficient models.

• Food and water systems transformation: Enable and accelerate the transition of food and water systems to be accessible and resilient, nutritious and healthy, and environmentally sustainable through innovation, finance and public-private partnerships.

• Response and recovery: Improve the state of the environment and the quality of life for communities impacted by pollution. Design and implement public-private collaboration models at global and national levels for systemic transformation.

• Adaptation and resilience: Define, raise awareness and catalyze collective action towards the comprehensive management of critical environmental risks having the greatest impact to our society’s well being.

Reporting Lines & Interactions
The ECP will be based in the World Economic Forum’s Beijing Representative Office, reporting to the Head of Climate and Resources, Greater China. This candidate will support the Head to undertake a detailed scoping exercise to identify opportunities and develop a draft work plan for Better Living works in China that are aligned with the priorities of the Beijing Office.

The successful candidate will be assessed on
- Project scoping: Review the existing policies and literatures to map the current landscape, challenges, and opportunities of Better Living works in China, including opportunities for innovation in food and water, resource systems, adaptation and resilience.
- Stakeholder engagement: Identify key stakeholders within and outside the Forum and conduct consultations with them to validate and refine the above findings.
