MCF is back… to the eighties! This year’s Murder Mystery is inspired by the classic Kevin Bacon movies, Footloose, with all the dancing that the original brought us but with an added murder element and lots of fun.

The 6th annual MCF Murder Mystery is back this year with an 80’s themed event that embraces the music, the movies and the pop culture of the decade. So, if you’re a Karma Chameleon, know how to do the truffle shuffle, are an eighties child or just have a lotta love and appreciation for the neon glamour of it all then this’ll be right up your street.

“This year’s murder mystery dinner brings us back to the 1980’s where we witness a high school performance competition go murderously wrong. Jealousy, betrayal and good old-fashioned revenge set to the beats of the 80’s make this thrilling tale one you won’t forget.”

-Clare, director of this year’s performance

The Murder Mystery part of the evening will take place in the form of a hilarious and lively theatrical performance between each five star course. Plus, there’s an interactive element so if you want to get up and take part, join in the dancing or question the suspects, you are encouraged to do so! While you eat, try to guess the murderer, and enjoy the show, there will be many other activities to participate in.

First up, we have the MCF raffle with a whole host of totally tubular prize baskets to offer – everything from the perennially popular Debauchery Basket (basically a basket brimming with booze) to the Date Night Basket, which in the past has included a Westin staycation and Hutong cooking classes.

Alongside this, BlueStar will be running a draw for a free iPad and there will be prizes for best 80’s dress. Want to look as stylish as Madonna or as rad as Prince? Dig out the leg warmers, the blue eyeshadow, the funky jackets and fingerless gloves for a chance to win!

Cheers will be in attendance and thanks to them there will be complimentary wine on every table.

Throughout the night, clues will be left for you to puzzle through and the Murder Mystery will conclude with an unveiling of the murder, awarding prizes to the tables that guess correctly.

Wanna dance with somebody? Wanna feel the heat with somebody? Well, to cap off the night, there will be an 80’s disco where you can move, groove, and dance the night away.

And if all that isn’t enough, the proceeds from this event will go directly towards funding MCF programmes across Beijing, enabling disadvantaged children around the city to access education and healthcare.

Don’t you… forget about MCF and come cut loose, kick off your Sunday shoes, and solve the Murder Mystery with us on Saturday, April 27th.
