Watch – The 2025 Austrian Film Festival
Tomorrow (Sep 15), the 2025 Austrian Film Festival will open in Beijing. Organized in partnership with the China Film Group, the festival will run until Sep 30 and sees seven films being screened across Beijing and other cities in China. Highlights include the opening film Club Zero, which will be screening in China for the first time. Other featured works include Gypsy Queen, The White Ribbon, Licht and One of These Days.
The 2025 Austrian Film Festival will take place from Sep 15 to 30 in various cinemas across Beijing. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased through the China Film Group mini program by searching “中影电影通” in WeChat and then searching for “2025年奥地利影展.” You can read more about the festival here.
Laugh – Same City, Different Teams: Improv Doubleheader
Beijing Improv is putting on a special show on Saturday (Sep 20) at JinShang Yuan. Called Same City, Different Teams: Improv Doubleheader, it sees the Beijing Broads and Friends performing at 6.30pm and then Beijing Improv and Friends performing at 9pm. Both shows will feature surprise performers, including Beijing legends and special guests from other cities. You can choose to watch just one of the two performances or opt to watch both.
Same City, Different Teams: Improv Doubleheader will be taking place at JinShang Yuan's Garden Theater on Sat, Sep 20, at 6.30pm (Beijing Broads) and 9pm (Beijing Improv). Tickets are RMB 75 for one show or RMB 120 for both shows and can be purchased by scanning the QR code in the poster above. You can read more about the event here.

Eat (Again) – River BBQ Fest
We couldn't look to the week ahead without mentioning our River BBQ Fest, which kicks off on Friday (Sep 19) and runs until Sep 21. Taking over Langyuan Station's Riverside Cultural Plaza, it will see 40+ vendors serving up smoky barbecue flavors from every corner of the world, and you can read more about them in the two posts below:
Along with succulent barbecue flavors, there will be plenty of drinks, live music, dancing and more entertainment. Believe us when we say this is one festival you don't want to miss!
River BBQ Fest will be taking place at Langyuan Station on Sep 19 from 4pm until 9pm and Sep 20-21 from 11am until 9pm. Early bird tickets are RMB 19.9 and can be purchased by scanning the QR code in the poster above. Tickets at the door are RMB 29.9.
