Slider Nation's WAB Location Officially Opens Tomorrow

After much anticipation in Beijing's burger community, Slider Nation's newest branch located by Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) is having their grand opening party tomorrow (Feb 22). Along with their usual selection of delicious sliders, they'll also have some new ones to try such as Fried Chicken Sliders and Sausage Egg n’ Cheese Sliders. Drinks-wise, they'll be serving up an array of discounted cocktails, Carlsberg and kids slushies. Aside from food and drink, there will be live music from Greg Lutrel and DJ Half n Half, games of corn hole, giveaways and more! The festivities all kick off at 4pm and will run until late.

Le Coq Group Opens First Beijing Branch

About a month ago, the Le Coq group opened their first Beijing Le Coq Wine & Bistro store in Taikooli. A Shanghai-based brand, Le Coq was originally a wine import company that then branched out into the restaurant industry several years ago. It now has numerous restaurants under the brand name in Shanghai as well as one location in Xi'an and now, lucky us, Beijing! 

Le Coq Wine & Bistro specialize in French fusion food, combining traditional French cooking techniques with modern flavors such as Asian sauces. At their chic Taikooli branch, they've got a pretty extensive menu with lots of seafood options, small plates, mains, steak and desserts. Their Seafood Towers (standard/RMB 598; luxury/RMB 1,988) which include things like oysters, French sea snails, smoked salmon and mackerel with chili sound particularly intriguing. New Peking Duck Pizza, Burgers and More on COMMUNE's Spring Menu

COMMUNE launched their new spring menu this week, and it includes a brand new COMMUNE Peking Duck Pizza (RMB 119). The pizza has been made in collaboration with Peking duck stalwart Dadong and has a hoisin sauce base topped with crispy roast duck, diced cucumber and spring onions. Other new additions to the menu include two new burgers – a Smoked Brisket Burger (RMB 158) and Pulled Pork Burger (RMB 88) – as well as Smoked Brisket (RMB 328), Pesto Chicken Pasta (RMB 78) and more.

Experience Wine Paired With Music at MO Bar

If you're a fan of both wine and music, then MO Bar has the perfect event for you this Sunday evening (Feb 23). Called the In Vino Musica The Magnificent Apéritif-Concert, it's an immersive experience that pairs five selected wines with music and canapés. The event will feature performances by the Duke Quartet and wine pairings by the hotel's sommelier that have been selected to suit the style and rhythm of the music.

Great Maslenitsa Brunch Buffet Comes to the InterContinental

Next weekend on Mar 2, the InterContinental will be putting on a special Great Maslenitsa Brunch Buffet. For those who don't know, Maslenitsa is a Russian festival that celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of spring with festivities like feasting on pancakes, singing and dancing. At the brunch, they'll have plenty of pancakes, a Russian cuisine station, a buffet, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks along with folk music, children's activities and more. 

The Great Maslenitsa Brunch Buffet will be taking place at Ying Restaurant in the InterContinental on Mar 2 from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Tickets are RMB 298/adult; RMB 149/children 1.2m-1.4m tall; free for children under 1.2m accompanied by an adult; tickets can be bought by scanning the QR code in the poster above.

Grill 79 Launches New A La Carte Menu

This week Grill 79 launched a new A La Carte Menu where you can savor the exquisite art of French cuisine with Chinese flair. New dishes include Sous Vide Oysters with a soya milk foam; Tenderloin Rossini with crispy buttered bread, foie gras, truffle sauce and fresh truffle slices; and Turbot with French fish bone sauce. What's more, on Mar 3 they'll be introducing a Degustation Set Menu by Chef Zoe (RMB 888/package), so be sure to watch out for that. You can read more about the new menu offerings in this post.
