Beijing's Market Rallies With Post-Holiday Sales Surge: Following the Spring Festival holiday, Beijing's secondhand housing market has witnessed a significant rebound in transaction volume, offering buyers greater negotiating leverage, reports China Daily. According to a Securities Daily report on Thursday, the post-holiday period saw a surge in activity within the capital's property scene.
During the eighth week of 2024, from Feb 19 to 25, Beijing not only recovered but led the rise among 12 key monitored cities, with secondhand residential housing transactions soaring to 1,831 units — a sharp increase from the meager 100 units recorded the previous week, as per Zhuge Real Estate Data Research Center's data. This uptick in Beijing's market was mirrored in other major cities like Shanghai and Chengdu where the transaction volume for the same week surpassed an impressive 2,000 units in each city.
Beijing Prepares for Athletic Encore With 2027 Championships: Following deliberations by its council in Scotland, the announcement came just before Glasgow's staging of the World Athletics Indoor Championships, which started on Mar 1 and will run until Mar 3, reports Global Times.
