Devilish Brew: Wuhan's Devils' Brewery Comes to Beijing for Beersmith's First Tap Takeover, May 10
Tomorrow (May 10) Beersmith will be hosting their first-ever tap takeover! Devils’ Brewery from Wuhan will be coming up to Beijing to take over five of Beersmith’s taps for the evening starting from 5pm.
Devils’ Brewery was founded in Wuhan back in 2016 by a Chinese and American duo who wanted to make classic American beers but with a Chinese twist, or in their own words create an "American craft brewery with Chinese characteristics".
When brewing their beers they use a number of classic Chinese flavors and herbs such as pu’er tea or lychee. They also have a focus on producing beers that have bold, distinctive flavors that you won’t find anywhere else.
For the takeover, they’ll be bringing up five of their best brews to try:
- Lychee Milkshake IPA - vanilla marshmallow, lychee, citra and mosaic hops.
- Horny Devil IPA - fruit-forward, modest bitterness, smooth finish.
- Easy Going Pils - Bread toast, mild honey, Saaz hops.
- The Little Ctirus Pu'er Imperial Saison - fermented pu'er tea, sweet orange peel, French oak
- Devils' Quartet DIPA - 20g/L dry-hop, four single hop series, tropical citrus
The beers excluding the Devils' Quartet DIPA (RMB 62/310ml) will be priced at RMB 55 per 330ml glass. Alternatively, if you want to try out a few of the beers at once you can choose a tasting paddle of four beers (150ml/glass) for RMB 108.
Along with bringing some of their beers to the capital for us to enjoy, Devils’ Brewmaster Taylor will also be co-brewing a brand new beer with Beersmith’s Brewmaster Jon. This special one-off brew will be released next month, and in the meantime, Beersmith will be keeping Devils' Quartet DIPA on tap.
Devils’ Brewery Tap Takeover will be taking place at Beersmith at 5pm, May 10.
