HOT News: The Beijinger Spicy Fest Returns May 15-16!
Is your tongue ready for the hottest weekend of the year? That's right, it’s time to start hitting the hot sauce in preparation for the pile of peppers you’ll pour down your pipe with the arrival of Hot and Spicy Fest 2021, May 15-16 at Instreet – save the date, and we’ll let you know soon when early-bird tickets go on sale!
Instreet? Where is that?!
Since its renovation last year, Instreet, the sunken walkway at Sanyuanqiao, has been popping with new openings. Now, we’re bringing the heat to Instreet with two days of spicy food and drinks, live music, and plenty of fun – including the return of the hot pepper eating contest!
New spice, new life in Beijing
Until recently, it seemed that Beijing was perpetually fighting off new surges of coronavirus cases – and indeed one such surge caused us to lose much of the fun of summer and forced the Beijinger to delay last year’s Spicy Fest until August. But now, with about half the city vaccinated and counting, we expect this summer to be an absolute blast – and we’re starting it off with a spicy kick. We hope you’ll join us!
And by they way, in case you were wondering, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has recently stated that you do NOT have to avoid spicy food after receiving the vaccine!
