M Coffee Comes to Sanlitun
Already beloved by caffeine-addicted artists (yes, that’s all of them), M Coffee is finally branching out beyond Meishiguan's 77 Cultural Park, allowing the Sanlitun crowd to get a taste of their small producer-sourced beans, not to mention their very own “M naturally!” red wine.
In contrast to the bright white of their previous location, this new spot on the third floor of Nali Patio is a bit more narrow but offers a quaint wooden aesthetic and a peaceful setting that may make it worth the climb to avoid the bustling atmosphere of Moka Bros on the first floor.
With a full menu of single-origin espressos, pour-overs, and cold brews, plus a decent selection of wines, whiskeys and other spirits, M Coffee Sanlitun promises to be a lovely spot for sipping with a friend – morning or evening. If you’re there to grab a coffee, don’t forget to pair it with one of their pastries, freshly baked daily and among the better you’ll find in Beijing.
For their soft opening, they will be offering 50 percent off select coffees until Friday, Jul 31.
Nama Cocoa slings coffee and gelato to Takooli shoppers
Perhaps inspired by the %Arabica stand in the same square, Nama Cocoa has set up a to-go kiosk in Taikooli North, offering attractive-looking iced lattes. For those who prefer to cool off without the caffeine, they are also selling gelato topped with little waffles and brownies. Pistachio is the most popular flavor, but the strawberry is a close second. Oh, and if you like the brownie, you can buy a whole box of them separately for RMB 138.
Learn to brew the perfect cup with The Hutong
When it comes to Chinese coffee, you can’t beat the beans from Yunnan province. That’s why The Hutong is offering a Taste of Yunnan Coffee Modern Brew Course.
Led by an expert in specialty coffee with nearly ten years of brewing and roasting experience under his belt, the course will dive deep into coffee preparation science to help you understand the chemistry, equipment, and methodology behind quality brewing. You’ll leave not only with a better knowledge of your morning joe, but also with a bag of Yunnan beans.
The course runs RMB 488 and will be held Aug 8, 2.30-5.30pm.
