Thursday, May 16

Night Tempo
Get your weekend off to an early start with Night Tempo (pictured in cartoon form up top), "the most influential vaporwave producer in Asia," this Thursday at Dada. For the uninitiated, vaporwave is what it would sound like if you resurrected a Windows PC in Circuit City in 2004, except all of the merchandise was made out of granite and the conversations and bleeps and bloops around you were detuned and half-speed. And there was a saxophone playing a keyboard wearing sunglasses. That. RMB 80. 10pm. Dada

Friday, May 17

Marco Shuttle
Slow, abstract, and mesmerizing are some descriptions of a regular set by Italian DJ Marco Shuttle. Techno may be Shuttle's touchstone but his mixes often percolate, morph, and rebuild unexpectedly into explorations of sound and space that eschew banger satisfaction for something headier and more experimental. Price TBA. 10pm doors. Zhao Dai

Sikdope
Polish producer and DJ Sikdope may have gotten his start as the lead singer of a successful rock band until he discovered the dark ways of drum and bass, dubstep, and techno. Now he divides his time between the two musical outlets, this time heading to One Third with mixer in hand. RMB 100. 10pm. One Third

Myspace Jams
Gaze into the near distance and think back to the time when you first logged onto the internet. Now think back to the time you logged onto the internet for the 10th time. If you were born in the '80s its more than likely that your first social media experience was fiddling with the mess of awkward pictures, sound files, and "friends" that made up the one and only Myspace. Soi Baochao celebrates those simpler days this Saturday with a night dedicated to "all the songs you made your mom listen to in her minivan on the way to the mall." Free. 10pm. Soi Baochao

Peace and Love
Aurora invites partygoers to the latest in their Peace and Love series. The action will take place in the club's Dark Room, overseen by two veterans of Beijing's underground club scene: Vltra_U and special guest Pancake Lee. 10pm. Free. Aurora

Thuvdr Presents: Orlando!
The London-born, New York-based producer Orlando works best when he's spinning some combination of dancehall, southern rap, gqom, and whatever else takes his fancy, crafting "angular and distinguishable dance music." RMB 80. 10pm doors. Dada

Saturday, May 18

Disco Extravaganza X Dining for Diversity
Queens unite on Saturday at Migas' "most glittery party," bringing together disco, drag, and live performances, all covered in the shiny stuff for weeks to come. Attendees are recommended to dress very inappropriately. DJs Yauma and Tanner and will be on the decks throughout. Free. 10pm. Migas Mercado

Tokyo Electric Beat
Two of Japan's best electro DJs (a genre known for its blend of '70s funk with the hip-hop culture and synthesizer technology of the early '80s) fly into Dada on Saturday for a night of "pure electro." AE35 and BAXIM will play alongside four wide-ranging Beijing DJs – Noise&Noise, Punx, Fløøød, and Senders Chen – for what promises to be a very eclectic night. RMB 60. 10pm doors. Dada
