EAT: New Seasonal Obentos Menu, Ramo Chef's Table 2, Father's Day Foodie Events

With the changing of the seasons you can always expect a new menu at Obentos, one of our favorite healthy lunch spots. This summer is no different, with a new seasonal salad (RMB 52), a new seasonal abundance bowl (RMB 68), and a new seasonal bento (RMB 78).

Our favorites were the new seasonal abundance bowl and the bento. Pictured below, the bento comes with seared sashimi tuna on top of salad and a yuzu dressing. The set comes with a choice of rice (white, brown, vegetable, or Obentos' flavored rice), and three separate vegetable dishes.

The seasonal abundance bowl (pictured at top) this season is filled with quinoa, an onsen egg, pickled cucumber, roast tomato, asparagus, radish, adzuki beans, rocket, coriander, and miso ginger, for a fresh flavor combination that you won't get bored of. More likely, however, is that you'll want to order it again. We're especially big fans of Obentos' delivery service through their website: quick, affordable delivery fees, and healthy.

Over on Fangjia Hutong, Ramo's Chef's Table is back following a short break to bring you round two of their curated dinner party on June 15. Following a Mediterranean-inspired vegan dinner last round, this new version is presented by Chiara Ye, a renowned Beijing food photographer. Having lived in Italy for most of her life, Ye's focus has been on fashion but also has a keen palate for rustic Italian cuisine.

The meal will consist of four courses, aiming to showcase the best of northern Italian cuisine. The meal costs RMB 288 per person, and is capped at a total of 14 spots. Call now to book your seat on 8403 5004.

Ramo also continues their homegrown pizza challenge, in which you can simply share your favorite pizza recipe with Ramo and stand the chance to have it available in-house for an entire month. See here for more information.

If you're one of the lucky ones who have their fathers in Beijing, or if you are a father (cheeky), don't forget to take a look at our Father's Day round-up ahead of Sunday, June 18. There are plenty of events for every foodie father to enjoy, whether that be an elaborate lunch or brunch, or even a cooking class for dads who don't mind getting their hands dirty.
