Missed Christmas Dinner? These Restaurants Are Still Serving Festive Meals
If for some reason you didn't manage to get your turkey fix over the weekend, never fear: a host of restaurants are still serving up festive menus (some with turkey, some without) in the week leading up to New Year's Eve. Fu Tapas & Wine
Take the opportunity of the festive season to go and try newly opened Fu Tapas & Wine on Ju'er Hutong, who are serving their festive menu through January 6. Choose from three (RMB 258) or four courses (RMB 298), including a main course option of turkey with chestnuts, raisins, and almonds. Add RMB 188 to enjoy three carefully-selected wines alongside your menu.
Luga's Villa
Head over Luga's Villa for two different festive options, Mexican-inspired upstairs and German influenced downstairs at Taps, but be quick about it – the menu finishes on December 26. Luga's menu is priced at RMB 198 and includes a main course of roasted turkey and pork roll, which you can wash down with a pint of Carlsberg or a margarita (included). Tap's four-course menu is priced at RMB 168 and includes a German potato soup and a main course of rotisserie chicken served with herb-baked potatoes.
Saffron To Go
Fancy something a bit different? Why not give your Christmas a Mediterranean feel with a set menu from paella purveyors Saffron To Go. Available from December 21 right through until January 15, Saffron To Go's festive set menu is priced at RMB 899 and includes a large seafood paella; an appetizer platter filled with tasty treats like Serrano ham, tortilla de patatas, and croquetas; a bottle of Saffron's own-brand red wine, and a gift bag. Order one day in advance by calling 8404 4909.
The Local
Whether or not you want to eat your festive meal on December 25 you needn't worry, as The Local are serving their take-out holiday menu all the way through until December 30. The RMB 1,960 menu will feed six to eight hungry adults and includes broccoli-cheese soup to start, a 7kg whole roast turkey, four sides, and an apple pie. Note you'll need to book four days in advance and pay an RMB 800 deposit. To book, add them on WeChat (ID: localkenn).
The Rug
The Rug has a range of festive set menus for two to suit every budget, from the simple to the extravagant. Get the RMB 399 menu, which features a shared appetizer, soup, and salad, two main dishes (no turkey, but there is slow-cooked prime rib of beef), and a dessert, or go all out with the RMB 999 set menu, which upgrades you to grilled T-bone and Boston lobster. All the menus are available through until January 1.
Q Mex
Available throughout the festive period, Q Mex's three-course menu is a steal at RMB 218. Choose from a couple of different starters, then follow that up with a main course of roast turkey and Christmas ham. The menu price also includes a drink (Corona, house wine, margarita or Carlsberg draft). Available until December 26.
