7 of Beijing's New Arthouse Cinemas Unveiled
Beijing is soon to boast seven cinemas specializing in the exhibition of arthouse movies – more than any other city in the country.
The cinemas are part of the recently-launched National Arthouse Film Alliance – a coalition of theatres that have guaranteed to screen at least 10 arthouse films every week in prime time.

The network of 100 cinemas will extend, at least initially, through 50 cities in 31 provinces across the country. Up to 400 more will join the network later.
Shanghai is getting six, Hangzhou four, and Nanjing and Tianjin three. You can check out the full list in Chinese at the official website here (PDF).
The seven Beijing-based cinemas can be found all across the city in Dongcheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, and Tongzhou.
