Bumper Crop of Foreign Films in Beijing Cinemas Set for May

May is set to be a bumper month for Hollywood movies in China with blockbusters Captain America: Civil War, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and possibly X-Men: Apocalypse set to hit screens.

As usual, there are also few stinkers in there including The Divergent Series: Allegiant (12 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes review site), Self/less (19 percent), Kidnapping Mr. Heineken (20 percent) that are probably best avoided. There are still a few Hollywood movies left over from last month that you can still catch at the cinema if you’re quick. The Jungle Book (94 percent) officially wraps up on Friday but I’d aim to see it by Thursday. London Has Fallen (24 percent) wraps up on Wednesday, and The Huntsman: Winter's War (17 percent) finishes on Friday. Here's what's coming up so you can start calendaring cinema releases.

Critics' Consensus: Allegiant improves on previous entries in The Divergent Series on a few superficial levels, but they aren't enough to counteract a sense of growing boredom with a franchise that's gone on too long. Younger viewers may express their own allegiance for the series.
