Watch Benedict Cumberbatch in 'Hamlet' at UCCA March 26

If jetting off to London for the weekend for a visit to the West End isn't in your budget, the next best thing may be watching Sherlock/The Imitation Game star Benedict Cumberbatch perform the title role in Shakespeare's Hamlet, in a filmed version of this National Theatre production (sorry, die-hard fans, no signatures or hugs this time around).

The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) will be showing Hamlet on Saturday, March 26 from 2-5pm. The production was directed by Lyndsey Turner and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions.

In Shakespeare's great tragedy, the country arms itself for war, and a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father’s death but paralyzed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.

Tickets are RMB 120, or RMB 80 for UCCA members. UCCA members call 5780 0291 from Tuesday to Friday 11am-6pm to book.

Collect your ticket from reception 30 minutes before the event begins. More information on the event is available here.
