EAT: Non-Christmas Dining Events for Scrooges
... Or mostly anyway.
Look, I love Christmas, like really love Christmas in a "Santa-Baby-is-my-ringtone" kind of way, but with nine days still to go until the big day, sometimes you want something other than turkey and yet another glass of mulled wine. Thankfully, plenty of our favorite dining venues still have non-Christmas events and promotions going on. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Locura de Navidad: Buena Onda Christmas Festival at The Bookworm: Ok, this one's a bit Christmassy, but what's better than Christmas in Peru. Popular pop-up Buena Onda is back for one day only to serve up their famous ceviche, tartare, and pisco sours. Ceviches etc. priced at RMB 50 per plate.
- Modo Urban Deli 5th Anniversary Deal: One of our favorite spots to grab a quick bite, Modo Urban Deli, just turned five and they're inviting us to celebrate with a special set menu priced at RMB 298 for two, including: quiche of the day, two "frying pans" (think Swedish meatballs, lasagna, Traitor Zhou's sausages, and more), two rice puddings with berry compote, and two glasses of sparkling wine.
- Fish and chips Tuesdays at Arrow Factory Taproom: Brits (and loyal fans of British food), get ready: Arrow Factory are serving up fish and chips every Tuesday for RMB 60. Pay just RMB 20 extra and get a pint of their Man with the Golden Hop Country Ale.
- Blue Frog's Warming Winter Dinner for Two: Blue Frog may be known for their two-for-one Monday burger specials, but they have plenty of other dishes on the menu too. Sample some with the weekday warming winter dinner set, which includes a range of options, from soup to salad to sliders.
