Explore the Wild Wall with William Lindesay and Bespoke Beijing, Oct 30
Think you've "done" the Great Wall? Think again. Bespoke Beijing have teamed up with renowned Great Wall expert William Lindesay (OBE) for a Wild Wall Weekend on Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 1.
Widely recognized as the World’s leading Great Wall historian, Lindesay fell in love when he trekked 2,470km of the Wall in the 1980s, and has since authored nine books, led groundbreaking expeditions to discover previously unknown sections and founded a conservation society to protect it. The tour comes ahead of the launch of Lindesay’s latest book, The Great Wall in 50 Objects.
Priced at RMB 3,380 per person, this once-in-a-lifetime tour includes two nights' stay at the Lindesay family's converted schoolhouse at the foot of the Jiankou section of the Great Wall, a sunrise hike on the wall, all meals, a village bike ride, and documentaries and lectures from the man himself. All participants will also get one of the first signed copies of Lindesay's new book.
The tour leaves downtown Beijing at 5pm on the Friday and returns at 11am on Sunday.
There are only 10 spaces available for the Wild Wall Weekend, so act fast if you want to snag a place. Email info@bespoke-beijing.com for more information and to make a booking.
Look out for our interview with William Lindesay in the upcoming November issue of the Beijinger.
