Tickets Now on Sale for Jing-A x Caravan Kitchen Takeover Oct 22
For the latest in their successful series of kitchen takeovers by popular local restaurants (previously featuring Pak Pak, EAST Beijing's Hagaki, and Mosto), Jing-A is teaming up with Moroccan restaurant Caravan for a one-off event on October 22, 7pm.
Caravan's proprietor Badr Benjelloun will be cooking up a four-course menu (RMB 100) of rib-sticking Moroccan dishes specially for the event, perfect for seeing out the end of summer. The menu starts off with a bowl of hearty harira (lentil and chickpea soup) and a serving of eggplant salad spiced with Badr's homemade harissa chili sauce. Our favorite course of the menu by far though is the 12-hour slow roast mechoui lamb, served with a reduction of Jing-A's Mandarin Wheat beer and a harissa-spiked yogurt. The lamb, left on the bone for maximum flavor, is tender enough to be carved with a spoon - a sure sign of a well-roasted lamb shank.
Pair the Moroccan menu with one of Jing-A's lighter beers, such as the aforementioned Mandarin Wheat, or alternatively Badr will be on hand whipping up some beer cocktails featuring his most favored ingredient - rum.
Tickets are available for purchase at Jing-A and Caravan. Make sure to get in there quickly, because these events usually sell out pretty fast.
