More Beijing Markets Headed Out of Town

Beijing's remaining clothing and product markets are heading out of town.

Popular markets including Yabao Lu, Tianya, and more than 30 others will be moving outside of their current central Beijing locations, along with about 250 wholesale markets, some of which, like the Beijing Zoo and Dahongmen markets, were previously announced.

A Chaoyang District representative said the local government wants to focus on developing technology, service, and cultural industries inside the city, pushing other economic activities out.

The official said Tianjin and parts of Hebei are interested in hosting the markets, which will make them oh so convenient for residents of and visitors to Beijing.

All the markets will be moved by 2016, so anything Russian, better go get it before Yabao Lu hits the road.
