This Week: Plan B Barbecues, Qixi Dinners and the Start of Mooncake Season

It's mooncake season once again and if you're looking to impress a colleague/business partner/family member with a box then now is the time to get buying. We'll be back with a round up of our favorites soon, but until then we've already been tempted by the Four Seasons' chocolate version, a break from the usual lard-laden pastry.
Qixi, otherwise known as Chinese Valentine's Day, is coming up this Saturday and there are a host of foodie goings on to help you treat that special someone. We've rounded up our favorites on the blog.
A few picks for events and promotions this week:
- Celebrate Swiss National Day on August 1 with a feast of Swiss dishes at the Swissotel. Lunch and dinner buffet available.
- Cepe at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing Financial Street has introduced a summer seafood platter (pictured above). RMB 688 + 15 percent per couple.
- Flamme is holding an old world vs. new world wine dinner this Thursday, matching wines from the two regions with dishes such as tuna tartare and steak diane. RMB 588 per person.
