New Brunch at Slow Boat, Summer Brunch Dishes at Agua and Morton's Dangerously Good Happy Hour

I called by Morton's for the first time in a while the other night for their "Mortini Nights" happy hour. The special, which runs from 5-8pm Monday to Friday, features knock-your-socks-off 3oz martinis for just RMB 45, accompanied by free-flow mini steak sandwiches. I also enjoyed a retro Cosmopolitan  almost a guilty pleasure nowadays.

Agua have added some new summer-inspired dishes to their popular Infinity Brunch menu. New options include a refreshing-yet-moreish gazpacho and an exceptionally delicious crispy ham and potato croquette. Be sure to save room for dessert; I am a big fan of their chocolate mousse with passion fruit.

Elsewhere in the realm of boozy brunches, Slow Boat have just launched a new summer Sunday brunch menu, featuring a mantou breakfast burger with an Andy's Craft Sausage patty or a stack of imperial pancakes (both RMB 45). Add RMB 100 for all you can drink beer between 11.30am and 2pm. See more info on their Weibo.

Purveyor of deep-friend deliciousness Saboten is now open in the basement of Taikoo Li South, just opposite McDonald's. Their grease-less cutlets really are a "cut" above the rest.
