Talking Pints: The Best Spots to Get Your Dance On Tonight
If you're in the city center, tonight is stacked with events on both sides of Second Ring Road. If you're into wiggling your body and flashing lights and all that good stuff, then here's the rundown of where you can make it all happen:
Gulou-side
- Are all those crazy sweaters at Beijing's vintage stores catching your eye, but don't know how to rock them? Put 'em on and head to 4corners for a full night of 80s music from DJ Giesel. They'll be kicking things off at 9pm with an introduction and screening of the "Happy in Beijing" video hosted by the creators themselves. If your feet get tired, you can always sneak off to their newly revamped bar in the back room, which now stocks 京A.
- Once you've had enough of the acid-wash, take your high tops on over to Dada for some "big, meaty, juicy melodies" from the Stuff'd DJs.
Sanlitun-side
- If you're not in the loop about Beijing's no-smoking party at d lounge, now's your chance to be. In this smog, you're lungs will thank you for letting them breathe while you kick it on the dance floor to some techno-heavy beats from Mickey Zhang, Elvis T. and Eddie Lv.
- The Bar at Migas is where you can get all funky thanks to Funk Fever's Five Year Anniversary bash. That's half a decade of funk right there, surely worth celebrating.
- Courtyard 4's Basement club is the new spot for the latest Natural Flavor party, a head-bopping night of soul, hip hop and disco with DJ QingMu, DJ Nasty Ray and the 36th Chamber Crew.
Don't miss these events during the remainder of this week. And of course, check out our Nightlife section and 7 Days in Beijing for more.
- Put your tetris skills to the test at 8-bit's championship Saturday, March 1.
- Our Get the Look star, DJ Pei, will be dropping beats at Computer Love on Saturday, March 1, to supplement a visit from DJ Santo Chino.
- Try a wacky, exclusive brew by 京A at The Experiment once a month, starting March 4.
And remember to carry your passport this weekend.
