Community Matters: This Weekend's Charity Cheer
The Christmas spirit is alive this week, and there is a stocking-full of charitable events worth attending this weekend.
On Friday night, the Australian community is holding their annual Christmas Kooka at Zeta Bar. The merry Aussies are asking guests to bring presents to donate to the Migrant Children's Foundation. The evening will include a buffet, drink discounts and raffle prizes.
On Saturday from 11am to 3pm, The Hutong rooftop will be a bustle with their Christmas Fayre (pictured above) and patrons sipping on mulled wine. Locally produced jams, baked goods, jewelry, scarfs and handicrafts will be on sale. Ten percent of all proceeds will go to Roundabout China.
Saturday evening, Bethel China is celebrating their tenth anniversary at the Regent Beijing. The kids cared for by the organization will give performances, join in games, and their artworks and photos will be exhibited.

On Sunday evening, Beijing Foodies is having their monthly get-together and are sporting the theme, "Devoted to Disabled" to raise money for Handicap International. The dinner will be held at Pak Pak Thai Kitchen, and the menu looks tantalizing. RSVP required: bjfoodies@gmail.com.
