Talking Pints: Halloween Starts Here
It's the weekend! TFI Friday, we've got that Friday feeling, and all those other Friday-related statements to innumerable to mention. So what have you got planned for your weekend? All Hallow's eve might yet be a week away, but that hasn't stopped a number of Beijing bars and clubs from getting their frightful festivities off to a flyer this weekend.
Centro will celebrate Hallo-Green tonight (Oct 25). They'll be getting in the spirit with special drinks and food options such as the Bloody Eyeball Martini and the Open Face Brain Burger. DJ Juliana Lima will be knocking out a petrifying playlist, too.
Also tonight (Oct 25), Alfa hosts a "fabulous" Halloween Costume Party. The Gongti spot is offering two-for-one on cocktails all night.
YEN Fetish Halloween party is this weekend (Saturday, Oct 26). The grand daddy of spooky bashes, YEN Fetish Halloween is always a top event, but you might look a bit of a plonker if you rock up in your civvies. Revellers are almost exclusively in the ghastly way decked out in costumes or fetish wear.
Also on Saturday (Oct 26), The Local will host their Mad Science and Misunderstood Monsters bash. They'll be giving out prizes for the most creative costumes in a number of categories such as maddest, sexiest and funniest monsters, maddest, sexiest and funniest scientists, and overall prizes for Most Creative and Best Couple/Group Costume. Plenty of chances to win. The judging starts at midnight.
Haze will be having their Chilloween event on Saturday night (Oct 26). Expect a cast of haze regulars at the decks, and the usual smattering of electro.
Not to be outdone, Lantern will host it's own Halloween night on Saturday (Oct 26). Spooked sees house residents including Weng Weng and Ou Yang playing to a costumed crowd encourgaed to take advantage of free hair styling and body paint throughout the night.
A Halloween party with a twist in Shuangjing as Mako Live House hosts a monster-themed '80s vs '90s retro roller derby on Saturday (Oct 26). Expect dance-offs, a costume of the decade contest and a "wheel of horror".
Capoeira Mandinga will host their very own Halloween party at 4corners on Saturday (Oct 26). There'll be a beer for those who make the effort to slip into costume. There'll also be Samba dance, Capoeira performances, live music, and DJ sets.
