Design Personal Logos, Clothing and More at Next C!Talk

C!Talk Beijing is inviting you to catch Beijing Design Week fever this Saturday with an afternoon of “Break & Make”creative workshops. Four local artists will walk participants through 30 minute hands-on courses in logo making, jewelry design, clothing redesign and paper sculptures.

I say, "Sounds fab, bring on the school glue and popsicle sticks!"

They say, "Err..that's the spirit..."

Participation is free and slots will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, so come early. The four workshops will run in tandem for three consecutive 30 minute sessions with space for ten students each, although an audience is welcome. All materials are provided, but those planning to attend a clothing redesign session are welcome to bring any old items they’d like to work on. The workshops will run from 4:00 to approximately 5:30pm on September 28 at the WCO office in Dangdai MOMA.

Here’s a more detailed look at the artists and what they will be teaching:

Chai Mi is an experimental animator, performer and VJ who takes an organic approach to art. She will teach paper sculptures for use in a stop-motion animation project.

Hannah Ren is an Australian jewelry designer and founder of the brand “100s & 1000s Design” who specializes in re-shaping odd pieces of jewelry. Participants of her workshop will learn her unique approach and get to take home a handmade souvenir.

Chen Yi Lin is the owner of newly opened vintage store Nostalgia and a graduate of costume design at the Central School of Drama. She will share her passion for custom tailoring and help participants put new spins on their old clothing.
