What's The Plan, Stan? Where To Watch The NHL Playoffs
Lord Stanley's legacy is on the mind of every Canadian (and some Americans) in Beijing now that the NHL Playoffs have started. Wherever you're from, we can all look forward to two months of some of the heaviest hits, slickest skating and snazziest stick-handling in sports. The big question is not what toothless goons see in ruining a perfectly good game by playing it on ice but where can you watch the action? We're here to answer that:
- Paddy O'Shea's – showing all post-10am games but can open early if there is enough interest plus 2-for-1 deals on Beijing draft, Tsingtao and mixed drinks.
- Plan B – showing all Vancouver Canucks games (and free Tiger beer whenever the Canucks score). They might show other games if you ask them very nicely – call ahead to check.
- The Den – we'd be shocked if they couldn't show every single game, it's The Den.
- The Irish Volunteer – showing all "important games" and will open for requests on any other ties. Call.
- Union Bar & Grille – should be showing all post-10am games.
- Cu Ju – check their website for scheduling details, but they hope to have as many games as possible.
There you go, hockey fans. Check the schedules here on NHL.com and enjoy those early mornings. Let us know if there's anywhere else that's showing it in the comments below.

Tell me about it. Been following them since 1971. Well, at least you won't have to give out any more free Tiger beer!
Now that our team has been euthanized, will you be showing the remaining Leaf game or the Habs-Sens?

If you want to watch hockey with the sound ON, AVOID UNION BAR & GRILLE!!!!
According to the manager, it is the company policy to have the sound on only for American football and F1.
UnEffingBelievable.
Should have gone to Plan B. I guess I'll go there to watch my Canucks...next year.

Badr, respect for playing the games buddy! The Plan B boys and the Cuju kids should face off in a road hockey game sometime during the run to the cup!

Re: What's The Plan, Stan? Where To Watch The NHL Playoffs
Oh yeah, the B in Plan B is for Boston.. hahahahaha... Plan B is very much a Vancouver bar and we are so big on the Canucks we give every single person in the bar, including Bruins fans, a free beer with every Canucks goal. I used to do it at Grinders but since I opened Plan B we took over the tradition. Plan B is THE place to watch Canucks hockey as we are the only Canadian owned bar in Beijing as far as I know. Not that the others are bad but, come on, We Are Canadian! If you don't get the reference then you ain't a Canuck.

Gar, the manager over at The Irish Volunteer in Lido, has been in touch to say they will indeed show as much of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs as possible on their three US sports channels, and will be offering 10% off Canadian Pizza and special "Hat Trick" drinks. As well as the usual RMB 10 Tsingtao and RMB 38 Canadian breakfast specials.

How about places in ShuangJing like Grinder's?
Are there any pirate websites like qbo8 that might allow one to download games soon after they are broadcast on tv????
The Montreal games are a must for this true believer.
Plan B is in Shuangjing (just northeast, in Pingod / 22 Art Street). Trevor the proprietor is a major hockey fan so you can be sure he'll show the games.
He's even such a big Bruins fan that he named his bar Plan B
