Football's Coming Home: AC Milan vs. Ajax In Beijing This May

AC Milan and Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed that they will be playing one another for the Winoly Cup at the Workers' Stadium on May 25.

As meaningless friendly matches go, this is a belter. It comes at the end of the season when players are still fairly fit rather than in pre-season when they are looking to get back in shape after a summer in the nightclubs of Las Vegas.

Also, the weather here in May is much more conducive to a football match than the usual visits in stifling July and August so we'll get to see one of football's traditional 3pm kick-offs.

The final icing on the friendly cake is that these are two very good teams: Milan currently sit 3rd in Serie A while Ajax are on course to take yet another Dutch Eredivisie title.

Tickets for the Winoly cup – which was contested by Manchester City and Arsenal last year – will be going on sale soon. As soon as we find out where to buy them, we'll let you know.
