New Openings: Palette Vino

If you’re reading as a Shunyi-based wine connoisseur, you’re probably a fan of Palette Vino’s original Pinnacle Plaza branch. Palette’s new bar-bistro, set in a spruced-up Dongsi courtyard, should become a downtown hub for wine tastings and casual imbibing.

The wine list impresses with twelve tipples poured by the glass (RMB 35-45) and a healthy selection of bottles imported from major wine-producing regions.
Categorized principally by grape varietal, bottles start at RMB 160.

You can perch by the main bar, or take a table and sample the largely Mediterranean tapas selection (RMB 28-45) or three- and four-course set dinners (RMB 98-118). Across the courtyard lies a small, oblong room, ideal for hosting small parties in cozy privacy. The rooftop terrace and quad should make for great summer sipping.
