They have the foundations for a fantastic drunk snack stop, ready to catch people walking through the village to Salitun dirty alley on their way to 1st Floor and all that other junk. They are very well hidden though and even though they have been open for a while, no one I ever mention them to has heard about them.
For this reason, Dog on Fire needs to step up their game a bit. The beef sausages were frikkin' delicious, fat and firm, meaty and well seasoned. They also had some good bottled beers at not-too-terrible prices.
My problem with this place is that everything except for the sausage was cold. We got one chilli dog and one cheese dog. Both toppings were straight from the fridge, cold chilli topping and cold liquid cheese on cold bread. We also got some nachos which came with cold liquid cheese on it.... agh. As far as queso-style liquid cheese goes, the stuff was very tasty.
If the bread were softer and warmer and the toppings were hot I would give this place a 5.
