Delivery ripoffs and terrible service.

The good:

Enormous, gross, cheesy, fatty, gluttonous pizza.... Delicious about once every 1-2 months. More often than that is too much. Also, the sides are pretty tasty especially the onion rings and the jalapenos.

The Bad:

1. The service in restaurant is appallingly bad. The draft tsingtaos ALWAYS take 10-20 minutes to arrive, last time I was there with 3 friends we asked for our beers 9 times! They are horrible with special requests, and few of them speak English. There seems to be a very high turn-over of staff which is common but not necessary. Look at places like 1st Floor, Flamme and Blue Frog. They have all had the same staff for years. When Sanlitun Kro's first opened there were 2 or 3 girls working there who were awesome but they have all gone now, leaving the restaurant with too many waiters who have no skills.

We were there last week, we reserved a table for 15 for a friends party. Without asking us, they put the table in the non-smoking area. Most of the guests were smokers and about 20 people showed up, several people decided to take their own table outside where they could smoke and eat. Since we arrived early, the restaurant was empty and they were given a table for 4. Then at 7pm when the place got packed they started harassing them to move in with the rest of the party. We asked if the table was reserved, they said no. We asked if the people waiting had reservations, they said no. They kept insisting that they move inside even though the table for 15 was full and they were eating, smoking and drinking at their own table. It got to the point of embarrassing as they argued with 3 or 4 staff members about it.

At the same time as staff were trying to push us off our table, the entire section by the bathroom with the booths was totally empty. No one was allowed to sit there, we were told without reason.

The cocktails are horrible and overpriced. All too sweet and low on booze. I paid 35 or 38 kuai for a vodka red bull with NO vodka in it.

My last issue is with the delivery. They scam you on toppings when you order to your home!!! I took some pics of the first and last time I ordered a Pepperoni pizza delivered. Anyone who has been there knows what the pepperoni explosion looks like at the restaurant... well, here it is when it's delivered...

The difference is obvious. They think since you aren't there to complain, that they can cheap out on product.

I used to like Kro's for what it was but I am over it now, too many problems every time we choose them.
