we ordered delivery from this place on jinshisong.com just to see if the restaurant would be worth a visit some time.
Super cheeseburger, Cheese dog, Chili cheese fries.
Absolutely inedible.
It was completely cold. It took more than one hour (though this could be delivery guys fault). They gave me one tiny spoonful of meat chili sauce, not enough for 2 Fries and the cheese sauce was foul. The fries were cold and soggy and had that gritty powdery texture of frozen potato which is then under-cooked. The hot dog bun was the driest bread i have ever tasted and it was 1/3 the size of the hot dog itself, the burger bun was the same, dry sweet yellow Jingkelong bread. The mayonnaise on the burger was so sweet and the Chinese brand ketchup packets were gross. We threw all the food away. Total waste of money. Disgusting. Glad we didn't go all the way to Dongzhimen for it.
I don't think a place like this should be on a delivery website, they took way to long. But even ignoring the coldness of everything, it was still revolting.

Re: Totally gross.
I live near dongzhimen...I sometimes go to nathan's and your review seems really odd to me.
Before anything I have to say I am not a big fan of burger places but they dont serve frozen fries (at the least not at their shop). Mayo is not that bad an not the sweet kind.
Bread, I am not a big fan of their bread but is not disgusting and not jingkelong for sure...havent tried the hot dog but usually I order the double burger menu and it kind of fill me up (and I eat a lot)
Too be honest I wouldnt be so sure about jinshisong...
Re: Totally gross.
Bottle-O, seriously I don't know if you knew what you're talking about. Since our first visit to Nathan's me and my American roommates have become their regular customers. We are not fast food fans either but their food make other junks from McD and KFC (and even some products of Burger King) totally unedible under comparison.
Once I ran into some guys from their headquaters, who were kind enough to invite me to try out their new salad wrap products (which were amazing btw. love the lobster and chicken finger one). I was told that their fries were made out of this American red potato (washington? can't remember exactly) and the cheese is imported from Wisconsin. I loooove their bacon cheese fries and eat that everytime I go there.
Ketchup...I think they use mccormick, no? And isn't that an American brand?
As fir Jinshisong, we only ordered once (from Guomao)and it took about an hour. The food was of course not as good as when you eat it steaming hot in the store but was still quite ok. Normally no matter what I order from whoever, it takes on average 40mins,unless you order from the noodle shop downstairs of your own building. Plus Nathan's is fast food, shouldn't it be faster than other sit-down restaurant they have?

Bottle-O -
As a representative of Nathan's Famous, I am 1. sincerely apologetic for your negative experience and impression of Nathan's and 2. determined to right this wrong! I must explain though that it is a bit difficult for me to defend the quality of Nathan's when it was en route to you for over an hour. That is VERY poor timing and both Jinshisong and Nathan's will take equal blame for the long wait, which is unforgivable. We just partnered up with Jinshisong in mid-January, so we are new to this delivery service, but we are both actively trying to decrease delivery times in half and ensure that the quality of the food does not go down the drain while it sits in bags en route to our customers. Please offer us a second chance to redeem ourselves. I am confident that your impression of Nathan's will be changed if you made the trip out to Dongzhimen Raffles. If you save the taxi receipt, I will even reimburse you from my own pocket to make sure your trip is not a waste. I am confident that if you try our food (which is all made to order and fresh), that you will feel very differently about our quality, which I sincerely believe is authentic and superior to all other fast food chains in China and meets the same standards at Nathan's in the US. I don't expect a reply, but please know that we take all feedback (good and bad) very seriously and we hope you will give us a second chance. Please email me directly (kristen.lum@marcusfoods.com) to arrange a time to come in if should take me up on my offer!
Re: Totally gross.
Hey that's an offer you can't refuse, plus someone prepared to stand by their convictions! Grab it with both hands,it's very rare here and I'll make a point of checking your food out also kristen based on your customer service
Re: Totally gross.
weird... i've ordered from Nathan's using jinshisong's delivery service nearly 10 times now, and i don't remember it ever coming with chinese ketchup packets. i thought they sent their own ketchup in small plastic tubs.
also odd--nathan's hotdogs aren't longer than their hotdog buns. they fit neatly into the hotdog buns, like american hotdogs should. not sure what you got, but it doesn't sound like nathan's. did the delivery guys somehow pick up something else from another local chinese restaurant?
to be honest, everything you described didn't sound like it was nathan's food at all. i'd suggest you give it another try.
Re: Totally gross.
@Jackburton and @blueliprabbit: THANK YOU for defending Nathan's brand and I feeling equally as passionately to show my gratitude as I do to reverse the negative impression @bottle-o has of us. Please also email me the next time you guys visit us at Nathan's and your next Nathan's meal is on me!
Re: Totally gross.
It was Nathan's packaging. I seriously doubt a switcharoo. I wish I took photos now. the hot dog bun was about 12cm long. The bread was stale as it could be, the mayo was sweet, the lettuce was brown, the food was not even lukewarm, the fries were half cooked and the amount of chili for the chili-cheese fries was a total joke.
I have ordered from Jinshisong plenty of times, It usually takes 40 minutes. Nathan's was an hour and ten minutes. The record in my jinshisong account can confirm that.
There are a dozen reviews on this site with similar complaints, especially about your gross bread. there are also a lot of glowing reviews. Perhaps the staff are poorly trained and only perform when the American bosses are about? Whatever the problem, you clearly have consistency issues.
Thanks for the offer, Kristen. I don't think I will be rushing back. But, as I said... if I happen to be in the area I will order another cheeseburger and see if you have your issues worked out.
Re: Totally gross.
@alwn1708 - please also email me to make sure I'll be there! I'm not in the restaurant every day, so I hope you can let me know in advance so I don't miss your first visit to Nathan's! I want to make sure you leave with a genuinely positive and lasting impression.
@britomart - same offer goes to you! Can't tell you how happy it makes me to see people backing Nathan's up! Sorry I didn't see these two new posts before I sent out my last one to jackburton and blueliprabbit. You rock!!
