《Shores of Beijing》is an art project created by visual artist JaSob (aka. Jason L. Schick) from PerSpectV Studio. The project is talking about people’s relationships with the city. Through a special and unique perspective the artist has used photography, visuals, and music to express the powerful emotions and feelings the city has past onto him. Come to the show to discover your common feelings from his work.

Also PerSpectV Studio invited three talented bands, Tydi Knots, WHAI, Scare The Children, whom JaSob has worked with by creating amazing music videos for, to play live at “Shores of Beijing”.

-Who is JaSob-

JaSob, aka Jason L. Schick, known as Dr. J, has many titles in this city. As a holder of 3 university degrees, an all purpose specialty, during the 5+ years living in China, as a Teacher of 4 science subjects, as a free pharmacy consultant to many friends, as an editor of a top tier Chinese medical publication, as the founder of PerSpectV Studio, as creative director of CsixS Culture Communication, he has helped so many people with his creativity, "crazy ideas" and knowledge, his purpose of creating is to share and inspire people to notice more beautiful parts of life, to appreciate what we have and to encourage people to develop your own talents right now without any hesitation!

-Tydi Knots-

Tydi Knots is Rudi and Tyron. Combining the classical influences with their already experimental rock sounds, they create a new soundscape that crosses various genres. Playing as a 2 piece they have a large sound and also play various sets and interpretations of their original songs. A unique show that is both enticing and intimate exciting as well as memorable. Their sound is difficult to set to a genre as they draw inspiration and influences from all various genres and styles of music, but the band’s musical style can be described as a mix between alternative, indie pop, rock, post rock, ambient and experimental rock.

-WHAI-

WHAI - known as the founder of Chinese psychedelic rock music, was officially formed on October 24th 2012 by 4 artists of different ethnic minority backgrounds, devoting in developing Chinese original music. Throughout the years, WHAI are well known as perfcetionist band and recognised for their philosophical lyrics, experimental music, avant-garde styled CD cover designs and great live show performance.

The latest tour, Psychdelic New Year Tour of WHAI, which they just finished in January had opened a brand new 2018 for this great band, in 2018 they released new songs, added more elements such as Industrial, Trip Hop, Experimental, and even Techno into their Psychdelic rock.

When interviewed by TimeOut Shanghai Zhangwei said,"I hope to show a real face of WHAI to people, to get rid of commercial part, to get rid of superficial part, to tore the glamour cover apart, showing an original natural status of WHAI. When our music occurs you look at yourself with truly confidence and satisfaction!"

-Scare The Children-

Formed in August, 2014, Scare The Children is the most dynamic metal band in Beijing. Their stage performance is a horror narrative about a little boy's mental connection with a possesed doll named Betsy. Since they first met till later separating, year after year, the doll kept looking for it's old master. Scare The Children is creating a realistic environment through their powerful live performance and stage art to bring audience into the view of the little boy, to convey his complicated feelings with his old doll Betsy to people's minds. On stage the band members each adorn a creepy doll mask. The audience is treated to more than just a typical metal show. Scare the Children give you a true theatre experience. Not only do you get pulled into the visual environment at a live show, a wall of sound greets everyone in the crowd. The vocals are tightly handled by 1 bassist and the drummer. What is distinctive with Scare The Children is the lead vocals are all managed from behind the drum kit!
