Decision 2023: Cast Your Ballots in the Juicy Burger Cup Opening Round!

The Juicy Burger Cup is back, Beijing ... which means it’s time to decide one thing: who has the best burger in the capital?

With the Juicy Burger Fest 2023 taking place last weekend (Oct 27-29), it's now time to have a look at what's been happening in Beijing's fast-paced burger world this past year.

For starters, nearly 40 burger places appear on this year's Seeding Round ballot for the first time this year: a mix of brand-spanking new venues along with up-and-comers who didn’t make the Top 100 last year.

These include fresh names like ye lounge, TRIPLE B 3B, Huzi, Bay Area Bar, Great Cosmos, as well as a few familiar names who are participating in their first Burger Cup like SUSU and Pinotage.

Your mission now? Choose who deserves to make it on the ballot of 64 for 2023!

It works like this:

Simply peruse the comprehensive list of burger places linked in the QR code (spread into four randomized brackets, to maximize competitiveness), and choose up to 16 of your favorites in each bracket.

Don't have 16 favorites? Name as few as you'd like.

We'll use that data to create this year's bracket of 64, at which point contestants go head-to-head until but one remains.

Voting in the seeding round concludes at noon this Friday, Nov 3!

Why the complicated methodology? We do everything in our power to ensure the ultimate outcome of this exercise – an authoritative list of Beijing's Best Burgers – is both fair and reflective of the wonderful selection available to diners in the capital.

So, while cumbersome, our ballot has a lot of material in there so as to weed out ballot-stuffers. (Don't try it -- we always catch you!)

This year we’re condensing voting into just over two weeks, which means you’ll have to be quick in keeping your candidates alive to the next round.

Round of 64: Fri, Nov 3 to Mon, Nov 6
Round of 32: Mon, Nov 6 to Wed, Nov 8
Sweet 16: Wed, Nov 8 to Fri, Nov 10
Elite 8: Fri, Nov 10 to Mon, Nov 13
Final Four: Mon, Nov 13 to Wed, Nov 15
Finals: Wed, Nov 15 to Fri, Nov 17
2023 Champion Announced: Fri, Nov 17
