Where To Watch Argentina v Australia Now That Tickets Are Sold Out

After the first wave of tickets for the Argentina v Australia game at Gongti released Jun 5 and sold out within a couple of hours, it comes as no suprirse that the second wave, released Jun 8, also sold out in a flash.

Now, there are some scalpers selling tickets on platforms such as Taobao (淘宝), Xianyu (咸鱼), or Xiaohongshu (小红书) but, as we explained in an earlier article, selling tickets via these platforms is technically unauthorized and illegal so we wouldn’t recommend it going through the process of buying on there. Plus the cost of tickets on these platforms is reaching dizzying heights, with some tickets listed as high as RMB 18,000, according to The Standard.

The Standard also notes a few other scams in the mix. One such fraud promises an “an evening with Messi” for the staggering price of RMB 300,000. It seems scalpers and scammers alike are looking to cash in on “Messi mania”.

Now, if you still want to watch the game but didn't get any tickets, don't fret. A few places around Beijing will be showing it this Thursday, Jun 15 at 8pm. It might not beat seeing the match in person, but you'll still be able to witness an Argentina-Australia rematch with your friends.
