Eat Your Guilt Away: Chi Fan For Charity Needs You
Get your chopsticks ready, because Chi Fan For Charity (CFFC) is coming. The charity is expecting a slew of Beijing businesses to answer the call, as it seeks sponsors for it's Nov 10 gala dinner. The annual event, in which Beijing’s glitterati host tables at the capital's top restaurants, has become one of the city's most famous socially conscious event.
Aside from being involved helping a very worthy cause, Rohan Kara, sponsorship director, of the CFFC 2018 Committee tells the Beijinger that sponsors of this year’s CFFC will have the opportunity to boost the exposure of one’s brand or product among top executives, diplomats and KOLs in Beijing who partake in the foodie-centric annual event. That of course also leads to an abundance of networking opportunities with like-minded Beijingers from a variety of business fields, be it entrepreneurs and SMEs to corporations and embassies.
But above all, he says taking part is such a worthy endeavor is an effective form of cause-based marketing that emphasizes sponsor’s passion and commitment to the wider community in Beijing.
This year, the funds will be dedicated to educational resources for young female students in far afield Chinese villages. Fittingly titled Educating Girls of Rural China, the Mainland-based Canadian charity has worked to provide higher education opportunities to marginalized women in rural China since 2005. They raise funds to sponsor 10 female students seeking to finish their four-year undergraduate degrees. You can read more about their inspiring work here or scan the WeChat below:
2018 also marks the tenth anniversary of Chi Fan For Charity. In that time the initiative has built a strong reputation as not only being a fun way for foodies to help a good cause at restaurants around town but also a highly effective endeavor that raises thousands of renminbi for the charity each year. In 2017, for instance, CFFC raised more than RMB 380,000 for that year’s chosen charity, Education in Sight, a which works to provide visually impaired rural Chinese children with eyeglasses and exams.
