Food and Drink Deals Abound at Q Mex Shuangjing’s Grand Opening Tonight, Jun 1

After attracting throngs of Tex-Mex and burger lovers to its Sanlitun location, and fans of authentic Mexican fare to its newer Xinyuanli Taqueria, the Q Mex team has now set its sights on Shuangjing. Their recently opened third branch at Yuecheng Mall in Shuangjing offers something a little new to its other locations.

Unlike the Sanlitun spot, there’s no outdoor seating and the overall floor space is smaller, with only about 100 seats in total and divided into higher stools and tables situated near the bar, and booths that line the windows. The space was designed by Coro Urdaneta who was also the brains behind Moka Bros, Gung Ho Pizza, and Obentos, and also features Mexican-inspired pop art courtesy of Miguel Emerico. Additionally, its mall placing gives it a more family friendly, franchise-ready vibe than its predecessors. Make no mistake though, there's still plenty of Mexican-inspired booze options to keep the latter hours crowd buzzing, albeit in a more mellow ambiance than the Q Mex's woozier locations. Mirroring those venues, this new southern-situated branch also has a daily happy hour until 9pm with discounted draft beer starting at RMB 25, margaritas and mojitos at RMB 40, Corona bottles at RMB 25, and more.

The food, meanwhile, takes the "if it ain't broke' approach, adhering to the Tex-Mex style of the Sanlitun branch. That means Beijing's best burger (as voted by you, dear readers, during last year's Burger Cup), along with burritos, tacos, fajitas, and other such fare.

Having been in soft opening for a few weeks now, the new branch looks to make a bigger splash with its grand opening tonight (Jun 1), with plenty of food and drink deals from 7pm. For the occasion, all burgers, burritos, tacos, and pasta will cost RMB 50, and the first 50 margaritas and Coronas are on the house. There'll also be a lucky draw, pool competition, and a DJ from 9pm onward. From there, the restaurant will offer its lunch menu from Jun 11 for RMB 65, 11.30am-2.30pm.
