EAT: Raw Pop-Up at Mosto, Last Chance to Enjoy Pachakutiq Before Winter

There's a definite "raw" theme running through this week's edition of EAT. And with colder temperatures closing in, we're glad of the opportunity to binge on light and healthy dishes before it's time for stews and hot pots.

First up, the tireless geniuses at Mosto are back with their second Raw pop-up of 2016 (the first taking place back in April). Available for dinner on October 13-15 only, the pop-up takes the following format: pick your favorite seafood from the Raw bar, choose your preferred serving style, such as ceviche, tiradito or carpaccio, and let chefs Daniel Urdaneta and Juan Mateus do their thing. I happened to try chef Juan's albacore carpaccio with passion fruit sauce (see below) during a visit to Mosto's pop-up wine shop last month, and based on what I had it's safe to say you should be excited about this pop-up.

Shifting our focus over to Dawang Lu, this Saturday, October 15, is your last chance to sample Peruvian pop-up Pachakutiq, which has been serving up delicious Peruvian cuisine and potent pisco sours since July. They will be offering special promotions every day until they close, as well as lots of special offers on the day of the closing party on Saturday (with the stated aim being to drink all their alcohol – you have been warned). Word is brother-sister team Francisco and Maria Chia are on the look out for a more permanent location, so watch this space.

Finally, you'll want to book ahead for TRB Bites' upcoming collaboration with Shanghai restaurant Raw Eatery and Wood Grill next week. Taking place at TRB Bites on October 19 and Raw Eatery and Wood Grill on October 26, the two restaurants will be teaming up to serve a five-course menu priced at RMB 588. As their name suggests, the menu at Raw Eatery and Wood Grill is split into two halves, featuring raw dishes and dishes grilled in their Josper charcoal oven, and drawing inspiration from the cuisines of Spain and South America. The kitchen team is led by chef Juan Campos.

As always, keep up to date with all of Beijing's best foodie happenings via our Food Events section here.
