Beijing's Top Festive Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Dining Options

[Updated Dec 23, 2pm] Christmas is upon us once again and venues around town jostle to dish up the most festive meal for you and your extended family away from home. There are already a good number of meals announced, giving you plenty of time to book your place early so that you can focus on much more important endeavors like bagging all your presents on Taobao and finally getting around to decorating your tree.

We've divided the events below by location and listed set meals, buffets, and other events happening on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For a full list of Christmas events, visit thebeijinger.com/events/christmas. We'll update these offerings as we get closer to the big day.

Christmas Eve - Home Plate Charity Dinner

Christmas Eve - Mosto
A favorite at any time of the year, Mosto invites you to dine in candlelight on Christmas Eve. New Chef Juan Mateus will be cooking up a four course menu of new dishes and signature Mosto favorites. RMB 398. 6-10pm. Mosto

Christmas Day - Mosto
Whether you're recovering from a hangover or homesick, Mosto's comforting three-course brunch will ease all your holiday woes. Add free-flow sparkling, red, and whites wines, and cocktails, for RMB 158. The brunch is also available on New Year's Day. RMB 168. 10am-3pm. Mosto

Christmas Eve - Okra
Give your Christmas eve a japanese twist with dinner at Okra. Their special six course menu includes Japanese classics like nigiri, fusion dishes like "sushi matzo ball soup", and a main event of charcoal roasted suckling pig. RMB 450. 6pm-midnight. Okra

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Blue Frog
Enjoy a festive three-course menu at Blue Frog, with a choice of main course and a dessert of chestnut cheesecake with caramel sauce. Every guest will take home a bag of festive cookies. The menu is available at all Blue Frog branches. RMB 358. 10am-10pm. Blue Frog

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Lily's American Diner
Available throughout the Christmas period at all three branches of Lily's, this classic Christmas dinner offers some of the best value in town - the price even includes a glass of wine. Turkey delivery also available. RMB 169. 11am-11pm. Lily's American Diner

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - The Local
The Local will be whipping up a traditional home-cooked Christmas for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There are two options available, a per person set menu or a feast menu for six to eight people, both including roast turkey, all the trimmings, and apple pie a la mode. Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - The Rug

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Q Mex

Christmas Eve - Fiume
According to tradition, Fiume have prepared a meat-free menu for the 24th. Lunch time includes three or five-course set lunches inspired by classic dishes from Emilia Romagna. Christmas Eve - Paulaner Brauhaus (Kempinski)

Christmas Eve - Mio

Christmas Eve - Seasonal Tastes (Westin Beijing Chaoyang)
Consistently one of Beijing's most popular Christmas destinations. Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Great Leap Brewing #45 Brewpub
This Christmas, Great Leap #45 will be hosting a family-style holiday meal. They'll be serving up a traditional porchetta, buttery rolls, cauliflower gratin, crispy brussel sprouts, broccoli salad ,and a winter fruit crumble for dessert. Christmas Eve - The Brickyard
Getting out into the mountains is probably your best chance for a white Christmas in Beijing, so head up to The Brickyard at Mutianyu, where they are serving up a feast of roast goose (served family style) with carols and hot chocolate after dinner. They are also offering an overnight package that includes a stay in a superior queen room, transfers from Beijing, dinner, and breakfast for two.
