International Olympic Committee Inspection Tour of Beijing Continues

Beijing has set out to show visiting officials "a Beijing they would not expect," according to a statement from Beijing 2022.

This makes one wonder: what do Beijing 2022 officials expect the "Beijing they would expect is," that they are trying to present one "they would not expect"?

In any case, Wednesday is the second full day of venue visits for the Evaluation Commission, which went to rival Almaty in February.

They will visit the following venues: "Linglong Tower, with sky-rise views overlooking all the venues; Beijing National Stadium (also known as the Bird’s Nest), which would host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games; National Aquatics Centre (also known as the Water Cube), planned curling venue; National Indoor Stadium – set to host Men’s Ice Hockey; Capital Indoor Stadium – proposed Short Track and Figure Skating venue; Wukesong Sports Centre – planned Women’s Ice Hockey venue," the committee said in a statement.

China is also planning to launch the "300 Million People Winter Sports Plan," to encourage participation in winter sports, especially winter sports that feature in the Olympics.
