Apothecary Closes Its Doors, No Last Call [Updated]
[Editor's Note: Previous editions of this story were not correct. We regret the error and it has been corrected.]
A sad day for craft cocktails, as one of the Beijing originals, Apothecary, goes the way of Parnas and shuts their doors in Nali Patio. Launched by famed Beijing barman Leon Lee (a former managing editor of this fine publication) and Chef Max E, since 2009 they have been serving up delicious drinks and food to the upper crust of Beijing's nightlife enthusiasts.
Leon Lee spoke to The Beijinger, telling us that he's planning to leave China, and has since closed both of his businesses Yue Fu and Apothecary. We will forever crave their special rendition of the hot buttered rum. We're all feeling a little verklempt about the whole thing.
