Fatburger, Nyonya Kitchen on the Move as China World Food Renovates

Visitors to the food court in the China World Mall near the Line 10 subway entrance are in for a surprise: the food court area will be shut for more than a year for renovations as of today.

Popular eateries Fatburger and Nyonya Kitchen have already announced moving plans, with Fatburger shifting to another part of China World (they are already open on the second floor of China World Tower 2 (contact them at 6505 8422).

Popular Malaysian food specialists Nyonya Kitchen, which won our Best Malaysian/Singaporean Award in our 2014 Reader Restaurant Awards, is directing their loyal clients to their other location in Taiyanggong's Capital Mall (Unit 10 & 11, 4/F, 8415 0863).

Other venues affected include the BLT Supermarket, The Sweet Spot (whose other locations in the mall will be unaffected), and the China World locations of duck specialists Xiehe Xiaoguan (who will continue to serve breakfast and take-out in another part of the mall, near Wall Street English at B1, storefront SB128).

Chains Honeymoon Dessert and Ajisen Noodles are easy to find in other locations around the city so won't be missed but sadly the Taiwanese mini-hotpot place Yaogun Stone Pot has not announced any plans for relocation or reopening.

The hallway through the food court will remain open to allow for continued Line 10 subway access for the duration of the renovations, which according to signage in front of the now vacated stalls indicate will take until May of 2016. China World was tight-lipped about the plans and why they will be taking more than a year and a half to remodel a relatively small section of the mall.
