Are Cat Power, Tegan and Sara and The Cardigans Set to Perform in Beijing?

It seems to be more and more likely (though it ought to be stressed that this is yet to be confirmed by the event organizers) that US singer-songwriter Cat Power, Swedish indie pop outfit The Cardigans, and Canadian indie rock duo Tegan and Sara are set to headline the upcoming Modern Sky Festival.

We mentioned last week about how the Nov 27-Dec 8 festival is returning this year in a multi-venue format, but while there's still no final confirmation from the organizers, it looks like some top acts will be getting in on the action. By now you know better than to start getting overly excited about rumored lineups, but it definitely represents something to look forward to if organizers can pull off some of the names that are being bandied around.

It seems like Tegan and Sara are the most likely of the three acts to be making Beijing. The organisers alluded to it in an email, they have a profile of the band on the official Modern Sky website, and the venue for the show - Yugong Yishan - has booked the date.

Please don't get too excited just yet though! We've heard this all before, and I normally don't believe a show is happening until I get to the venue on the night!
