Late-Night Eats: Non-Chinese Options
We've brought you top late-night eats with the delicious tastes of Taiwan, Canton, and Hong Kong starring front and center, but 2am Beijing isn't without non-Chinese options. Keep reading for spots to keep your stomach satisfied at any hour of the day.
1. The Local
"Where the hell are you gonna eat food this good at 2am?" At The Local, of course. Award-winning burgers aside, with a kitchen serving up goods like buffalo wings, steak and avocado ciabattas, tuna nicoise, and French toast with eggs, The Local will astonish you with pub food that actually tastes... good? Hells yes it's good. And it's open until 3am daily, 4am on the weekends – just late enough for the after-club crowd.
2. Jazz-Ya
In the mood for some late-night soba noodles? While it may be known for its killer Japanese pub grub, this Sanlitun spot also has some of the best pizza and steak plates around. And they're open until 2am daily.
3. Lush
By day, this Wudaokou haunt masks as a caffeinated study spot for students. By night, it transforms into a site of unrivaled debauchery. We kid. But whether you're looking for some reasonably-priced Western favorites like foccacia sandwiches and thin crust pizza or a beer-fueled rager, 24-hour Lush has often got your answer. It just depends on the day and time of night.
4. The Den
This 24-hour pub is home bar to a variety of Beijing sporting clubs, and for good reason, too. You might head here for the decent food – this pub was voted “Outstanding Late Night Dining” in the Beijinger’s 2011 Restaurant Awards – but The Den is known best for its company and its happy hour deals, which are amazing, to say the least. Sit down at the bar and watch the game on one of the television screens, or swap stories with the other expats living the good life in the Celestial City.
5. Two Guys and a Pie
One commenter said he was a "pie-lover born and bred," and we think you'll be saying the same once you have a taste of the pies that Two Guys has come up with. This cozy storefront offers up savory pastries like "Slow Lovin' Aussie" (beef brisket and onion), "Sweet Tweet" (honey soy chicken) and good old American apple. Not too American, though – this startup was started by a couple of Aussies. But you get the gist. You can top your pies with sides like mashed potatoes, sweet potato mash, mushy peas and gravy, or enjoy them just on their own. If you want it really late, though, you'll have to wait until the weekend. This pop-in eatery is open past 11pm (until 4am) only on Fridays and Saturdays.
6. Cu Ju
Many stomach-fulls and a couple of reader awards (Cu Ju won Outstanding Nightlife New Corner and Outstanding Sports Bar of the Year in our 2013 Reader Restaurant Awards) after its debut, this cozy sports bar has established itself as one of the best sites for late-night eats and drinks around. Head here during its weekly deals – including RMB 30 cocktails on "Chemistry Thursdays" and RMB 10 Cuban Rub shots on Fridays – and stay late to enjoy its inventive menu. The kitchen stays open most nights until 2am.

Re: Late-Night Eats: Non-Chinese Options
Happy to have made the list! Our address for those who don't know:
32 Sanlitun Nan (behind Yashow Market, across from Friend Bar or around the corner from the fantastic Tavalin Bagels)
We will be open during Golden week as per our regular hours. No shame in plugging. Anyone who's eating a pie at 3am isn't the kind to judge....

Re: Late-Night Eats: Non-Chinese Options
Thanks so much for the inclusion of Lush, Vivian!
We're actually not 24 hours anymore, We open at 8am and close at 4am daily, with the kitchen shutting down at 3:30am (Our full menu is always available when we're open). But we still have a fantastic burger special every night of the week from 1-3am with four of our burger options on offer for 30rmb. And the thin crust pizza is over at Pyro, just a little down the way which closes at 1am (kitchen shuts at 12:30am). Definitely got the debauchery right!
Thanks again!
Josh
